Hongwe School, located in Mpeketoni, in Lamu County, represents a true example of educational transformation. What began as a small unit for children with special educational needs has, thanks to collective effort, become a boarding school that opens new opportunities for its community.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of its teachers—Mr. Maina, Madame Hellen, and the former principal, Mr. Peter—whose daily commitment shows that a passion for teaching can truly change lives. During our first visit to the school in 2023, we were deeply moved by the warmth with which they work and their constant desire to provide more resources for their students.

Following that visit, we invited them to see our facilities in Mokowe, where we shared experiences and inclusive teaching methodologies. They showed particular interest in our therapeutic gym and sensory materials, which are essential for stimulating learning and supporting the holistic development of children with ASD and other conditions.
