Art is freedom: every brushstroke opens a path to expression and confidence for the children of Lamu.
Art Project
In Kenya, art is not part of the compulsory curriculum, but at Be Social Project we believe it is an essential tool for expression, self-esteem, and communication.
Since early 2024, students at Lamu Special School have been receiving three art classes per week. Thanks to adapted workshops and the guidance of their teacher, Shindo, children have found in art a unique way to express themselves and build self-confidence.
The Art Project turns creativity into a powerful tool for personal and social development: it encourages communication, strengthens self-esteem, and showcases the talent of these children through exhibitions such as the one held in collaboration with the Tervalis Foundation in December 2024.
