Charity Birthdays with Be Social Project
Hello everyone!
Recently we held a charity birthday, and many of you have shown interest in this initiative. Today we want to share all the details for those of you who would like to give your birthday, wedding, christening, communion, or any other special occasion a charitable touch.
A charity birthday with Be Social Project means that, instead of receiving gifts, your friends and family make a donation to support the children at Mokowe School for Mentally Disabled. The amounts don’t need to be large—every contribution counts and provides valuable support for the projects we are running. It also helps give visibility to our work and allows more people to get to know us (and you can always invite them to follow us on social media at @be_social_project).
Planning a charity birthday with Be Social Project
What do you need to do to make your birthday charitable?
It’s very simple. Just get in touch with us by email or via a private message on Instagram. We will provide you with an invitation explaining what Be Social Project is about and how donations can be made. Donations can be collected through your own account or Bizum—so you can later transfer the total amount to us—or they can be made directly to the NGO’s bank account.
You can set a specific goal, such as one month of milk (€200), a chicken-and-chips meal for all our children (which they absolutely love) for €90, or something else entirely. Alternatively, once you tell us the total amount raised, we can suggest different options so you can decide where you’d like the funds to be invested. This could be school supplies, the nutrition programme, medical support… there are many possibilities, and the choice will be yours.
Nowadays, in a society where we often already have everything we need, when these celebrations come around many people ask us what we would like as a gift—and we don’t always know what to say. The truth is that while we may not be lacking anything, that same money can be used to support people we may not know personally, but who have far fewer opportunities than we do.
Weddings, christenings, communions and any other charity celebration
It’s not just about birthdays. You can also give your wedding, anniversary, christening, graduation, retirement party or any other celebration a charitable purpose.
In these cases, you can follow the same approach as with a charity birthday (your guests can make a donation directly to Be Social Project or through you). Alternatively, if you would like to give your guests a small token of appreciation, you can purchase it from us. Bracelets, shopping bags, keyrings… we offer many options at different price points. What truly matters is that, once again, all the funds raised will go towards the projects we are currently running, and you will be able to choose which one you would like to support.
Be Social Project Rehabilitation Programme
In addition, we currently have several children who require personalised rehabilitation and hands-on therapy. For this, we work with Nancy and Emma, a Kenyan occupational therapist and physiotherapist, who will be coming—initially once a week—to work with all of them.
Little by little, everything seems to be falling into place. That said, we want to be honest: it is not easy. Every small achievement requires a great deal of effort. Even so, the entire Be Social Project team is incredibly happy and excited to see how things are progressing—to see the support we receive from all of you every time we launch a new project, and to see how the lives of our children are gradually improving. We want to share this journey with you, because with every step we take, we truly feel you close by.
We will keep you updated on all future developments, which we hope will be many.
With love,
The Be Social Project Team
